Your Bucket List

Don’t look back and have regrets

Objective - To cost and add timescales to your goals in life, because without these, they are likely to remain just wishful thinking.

What is a bucket list?

The list of what you want to do (places to go, people to meet, things to do, how you can support your family) before you die ("kick the bucket").

6 Reasons to make your bucket list?

These are the reasons why we think it is a good idea to create your own ‘bucket list’:

1.Boosts your drive towards attaining a goal

Creating a bucket list can give your life a huge boost. Why? Because it requires you to assess where you currently are and determine the distance that separates you from your goal. When you know these two things, you can ask yourself – am I doing the things I want to do? Or am I doing things I need to do to reach my goals?

2. Never again forget a thing you want to do

Even if humans have well developed brains we still don’t have a perfect memory. We will forget a few of the things that you want to achieve. Our brains are constantly bombarded with great ideas, creative concepts, and activities that we want to try.

With your bucket list, you can write down the things that need remembering as and when you are thinking about them, no worries about forgetting because you’ve already documented them. Occasionally you should revisit your list and check that they’re still relevant in your life.

3. Become more productive and efficient

When you have a bucket list, you already know the things you want and need to do. You automatically eliminate the time you spend thinking and remembering them, making you more efficient. When you have a bucket list, you break down your goals into do-able activities, making it easier and faster to achieve your goals.

A bucket list gives you an instant view of the things that you want to do, making you want to do them as fast as you can. It sharpens your focus and gets you back on track if you have derailed in any way.

4. Significantly improve your life

A bucket list will improve your life and give you a sense of purpose. It will affect your life for the better. You will slowly improve how you run your life starting with your time management. Too many people waste their precious time on irrelevant things, which in the end have a neutral or negative effect on their entire life. Improving your life now, also makes things better in the long run.

5. Live a meaningful and memorable life

The most important reason for having a bucket list is to ultimately achieve your goals. It’s the main reason for having this list in the first place. With this, you set your goals and plan a path to achieve them.

To live a meaningful or memorable life doesn’t mean that you did everything you wanted to do. Even achieving a small short-term goal will give you a sense of satisfaction. That feeling alone is your initial reward for your achievement.

On the other hand, even if you don’t achieve everything on your list, you do at least have some great memories of those you did complete. Those memories will be the basis of a life that is meaningful, not for others, but for yourself. Acquiring memories is always better than chasing material possessions.

6. Financial Planning

Understanding your bucket list, how much it is likely to cost and when you will require the money will help us structure your savings and investments to support, not just your day-to-day expenditure, but the special things you want to do with your life. This can include when funds need to be available, how much investment risk you need to take to fund your life goals and identify what is likely to be left in your estate to take into consideration succession and inheritance tax planning
